Prime Time Isn't Just for TV Anymore: Quilts Have Taken Over
I want to tell you about a new pattern designer that everyone needs to check out. Prime Time Quilt Co. is owned by Rhonda Canning, an up-and-coming pattern designer with a flair for contemporary designs that are simplistic yet sophisticated, and patterns that are well written and easy to follow. How do I know this—I test patterns for her. I have edited a pattern for her, and I call her my friend.
Rhonda and I met at a quilt retreat a few years ago. Long story short, we were connected by our love of quilting and discussions of all things quilty. The retreat host, Angela Walters, put Rhonda in touch with me when she started to design her patterns. Throw in a trip to Handi Quilter Academy that we both attended last year (a happy coincidence), and we have become friends.
I have learned a lot working with Rhonda. She helped me find a love for flying geese units! I have tested patterns and helped her edit her first pattern. With Rhonda's great designs and a little skill in flying geese and triangles, you can make her beautiful patterns into beautiful quilts. Use modern fabrics or use traditional prints. Go matchy-matchy or go scrappy. No matter the fabric choice if you get your darks and lights lined up in your mind, you will have a beautiful quilt!
You can find Rhonda at Prime Time Quilt Co, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Check her out, and while you are on Instagram look for more from me at Words & Stitches.
