There is something about fabric and thread that just entices me to make quilts. I can walk into a fabric store and have a million ideas within seconds. When I return home with my bag full of goodies–always a bag full of goodies–I continue to develop those ideas or come up with new ones.

Quilting is a passion that I have developed over the past 25 years, and I seriously love to share that passion. I write about it; I talk about it; I teach about it–I am all about it.

Quilting is a hobby that can do more for creating a connection among people than many other hobbies I have tried. Everywhere I go these days I seem to feel that connection. I have found old friends who quilt. I have made new friends through quilting. I have touched lives I may never know because of quilting, and I have been touched by others who quilt and the people who have left quilts on this earth for me to admire and wonder about.

For all of this, I am grateful and feel very blessed that my very dear friend, Emily, suggested I try quilting all those years ago.
That’s it for today. I just wanted to say it because sometimes gratitude needs to be expressed.
