I am amazed at how quickly this summer is flying by. It seems that I have spent a tremendous amount of my time sewing, teaching classes, uploading, and ... well, you get it! How about you? Has summer been dashing by?
One of the best things I have done this summer is to learn more about adding dimensional-looking blocks to my One Block Wonder creations. It is unbelievable how much easier it is than it looks!
I have truly enjoyed teaching 3 separate classes on this technique. I had terrific participants for all three. I taught one class on the deck of a motor home for 5 camping friends! Another OBW class was for a friend and her four grandchildren who were fast learners and so much fun, and then another class was with a great group of sewists who selected the best fabrics! I also taught a fantastic sewing group a great class on Half Square Triangles. They meet together and have charity sews regularly. They have the best setup they can leave set for the next time in a church basement. Oh, it is so exciting for me to teach quilting classes!
In addition to all these classes, I have started practicing my curved piecing to become a certified teacher for Sew Kind of Wonderful. I hope to have this accomplished in the next few weeks. Watch for class offerings with SKW patterns and rulers soon!
I also have two "learn to quilt" classes coming up and cannot wait to share what we will be doing. If you know someone who wants to learn, please tell them to check in with Cindy's Nifty Stitches in Hannibal and Stitch & Clip in Lentner. They will know the particulars!
If you have a skill you would like to hone, let me know. We can discuss the possibility of a class.
Happy Stitches
Mary
