New Pattern Release

As we move toward the consistently warmer days of spring and summer, and the first

solstice of the year in June, I find it fitting to release my new pattern, Solstice Migration. I think if you start today, you should be ready for the summer solstice. This is a small beginner-friendly design, which appears to be a little more intricate than it is. At 48" X 48" it makes a great lap throw, wall hanging, or baby quilt. There is enough negative space to have room for terrific quilting motifs and a variety of block and unit techniques to keep it interesting.

I would like to take a moment to thank my testers and proofreader. Julie, Linda, Diane, and Jan provided me with a great deal of feedback that allowed me to write a pattern that is easy to follow, and Emily double-checked my wording and typing!

The original version was sewn up in Tilda fabrics, and the one I am working on now is in holiday fabrics from Riley Blake. (no affiliation) I will continue to add pictures here and in my gallery as I make more Solstice Migrations. I am certain it will be beautiful in any fabric collection or scrappy grouping you choose.

Pop on over to my Shop page and check it out. Be sure to look for the free download on making flying geese blocks the no-waste way as well.

I hope you love it as much as I do!

I also wanted to let you know that I will be teaching some classes at All N Stitches in the coming months. If you are interested in learning to do English Paper Piecing, or perfecting your basic unit making skills take a look at the store page linked above. I would love for you to join me the 4th Tuesday of each month starting in March.

Happy Stitches

Mary
