I know every state has its own set of wonderful quilt stores, but I must take a minute and brag about Missouri. The 110 quilt and fabric shops in Missouri make this a mecca for the quilters and makers of the world. We are home to many wonderful shops that line Highway 36 and enhance the main streets of towns and cities over the entire state. Missouri is home to popular, established shops such as Missouri Star Quilt Company, Quilting is My Therapy, Hickory Stick, Satin Stitches, and Sew Sweet Quilt Shop. If you and your friends are looking for a great shop hop trip, give Missouri a look.
Today, I want to tell you about a brand-new shop in a little town in central Missouri—Abby’s Quilt Shop in Centralia. Centralia is about 20 minutes from Columbia and the University of Missouri. Abby’s Quilt Shop recently opened its doors to the public. As with all fabric vendors in the past year, Abby is still waiting for some of her fabrics and supplies to arrive, but currently, she has a nice little selection of fabric collections, Aurifil thread, patterns, and precuts. The store is attractive and bright, the fabric choices range from traditional to modern, and the owner is personable and excited about her craft. In the future, Abby hopes to add classes and a place to sit and stitch. It is well worth the stop.
Good luck, Abby. I am looking forward to frequenting your shop.
